The St. Patrick’s Day Children’s Book Recommendations list has been put together! St. Patrick’s Day is the one day of the year many celebrate all things Irish and Green. I am always looking for themes in my reading and this list is no different. You will find these books are all set in Ireland. Some are silly, some teach a lesson and one tells a touching generational family story.

The answer to this question and other historical information can be found in this story, Patrick Patron Saint of Ireland, another one of Tomie dePaolo’s beautifully illustrated books. This book tells about the history of how Saint Patrick’s day came to be celebrated.

 

 

It is a story about a noble British boy who was captured and held in Ireland. As he grew up, he overcame many hardships and did countless great things through praying. He eventually established a Christian church in Ireland.

 

 

This is an interesting book about the history of St. Patrick’s Day and shares legends attributed to Patrick.

There is a note written by the author on the last page that you won’t want to miss!
